A well-known AI platform in academia is ChatGPT. ChatGPT is an AI chatbot that can “answer” human questions. The speed at which information is presented makes it convenient for students to conduct research.
KC Tang from the international research institute iesResearch said that ChatGPT will make researchers' lives much easier. According to him, AI platforms can act as discussion partners.
"It's like talking to a real-life friend. You can discuss things and so on," he said on the Airlangga University website, Tuesday (10 October 2023).
In addition to ChatGPT, KC Tang also mentioned a number of AI tools or other of his AI products that use LLM concepts or large-scale language models.
"It's like Microsoft Bing, Scite, Grammarly, Consensus," he said.

3 AI tools for research
KC Tang provides many examples of AI tools that can be used for research. An example is Scite Assistant's peer-reviewed research engine with his LLM.
1. Scholarcy
One of his AI tools that can be used for research is Scholarcy. According to Tang, Scholarship helps researchers create highlights and literature reviews in an accurate and unbiased manner.
"This has the potential to attract attention and is very important for research," he said.
2. Writefull
His Writefull features for proofreading manuscripts, tutoring academic papers, and checking language. According to its official website, Writefull uses big data to provide language selection advice.
3. Pay Attention to Graphs
The final tool is called Pay Attention to Graphs. This tool is suitable for creating posters, images, graphic overviews, and infographics for doctors and researchers. Nevertheless, KC Tang reminded students and researchers to double check research materials reviewed or provided by AI.
